The Business Case for Sustainability
This paper highlights several new studies that convincingly demonstrate the business case for sustainability.
For example, a recent A.T. Kearney report concluded that in 16 of 18 industries, the companies recognized as sustainability-focused had outperformed their industry peers over both a three and six-month period, and were well protected from value erosion.
This paper outlines the financial metrics that many businesses use when building sustainable practices to outperform the competition:
- Improved financial performance
- Influence the cost of and access to capital
- Reduce risk and have a positive return on business investments
- Attract and retain talent, improve employee productivity
