ARCHIVED WEBINAR :: Green House Gases Management Challenges: Scope 3 Emissions

While many companies have begun to monitor GHG emissions and introduce new policies and practices designed to reduce their carbon footprint, relatively few have taken on the challenge of addressing Scope 3 emissions, which includes GHG releases associated with a company’s supply chain.

Late last year, the World Resources Institute and World Business Council for Sustainable Development issued review drafts of two supplements to the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard. The first supplement focuses on product life cycle, while the second presents a comprehensive set of guidelines for Scope 3 (Corporate Value Chain) accounting and reporting. Some sixty companies currently are road testing the new standards with the aim of contributing to harmonization of international rules and procedures for GHG management.

In this one-hour webinar, sponsored in part by Green Pharma Working Group, we will discuss some of the issues and challenges related to accounting for and reporting on Scope 3 emissions with sustainability expert, William Russell, currently, Managing Director at SustainEdge, Bill facilitated PWC’s participation in the development of the first GHG Protocol and has extensive experience in GHG management, life cycle analysis and value chain consulting. He will share case studies from the life science and other industries.
