Kaplan Confirms Disaster Recovery Plan for Global Clients
September 18, 2008 - Princeton, New Jersey - Kaplan EduNeering, a leading provider of compliance and knowledge management solutions, today confirmed the successful deployment of its Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery plan for its primary data center located in the Boeing building in Houston, TX. Kaplan EduNeering's web-based learning and compliance management solutions, known as ComplianceWire® and KnowledgeWire®, are deployed as hosted solutions from the Houston facility, which was seriously impacted by Hurricane Ike in mid-September.
"Our 1 million global clients rely on us for business continuity - no matter what emergencies may occur at our data center," said Lisa Clune, Kaplan EduNeering's Chief Technology Officer and SVP of Operations. "Our disaster recovery plan was designed specifically to meet those client demands for uninterrupted service. Execution of the plan was as expected, providing our clients with the continuity they expect for the management of their compliance and learning programs."
Customer response has been favorable, as evidenced in a letter sent to Kaplan EduNeering by one of the company's health care clients following the storm, "I want to say how impressed I've been by your service and system performance during this situation. We've been able to get our employees on the system [and to] their training with no problems. I've noticed no difference in system performance from your normal operation. I know this is a difficult time and I appreciate the dedication and hard work demonstrated by all the Kaplan EduNeering staff."
