EduNeering Announces Partnership with Dr. David DeLong, Nationally Recognized Expert in Knowledge Retention
November 14, 2006 - Princeton, New Jersey - EduNeering, a leading provider of knowledge management solutions which assure regulatory compliance and improve business performance, and Dr. David DeLong, a nationally recognized expert on knowledge retention and workforce development solutions, announced a new partnership to provide technology-driven knowledge retention solutions to EduNeering's clients. Dr. DeLong is the author of the defining text, entitled "Lost Knowledge." He is also a research fellow at the MIT AgeLab. The knowledge retention solution will comprise three components-knowledge acquisition, storage, and retrieval-and will integrate the elements of Dr. DeLong's strategic model with EduNeering's knowledge management technologies.
"Knowledge retention is one of the business issues our clients face as employees retire or move to other employment" said Dr. Donald A. Deieso, President and CEO of EduNeering. "Our knowledge assessment, risk analysis and technology-based solutions have already been embraced by our clients in tackling this problem. With this new partnership, we will be able to expand that offering by incorporating Dr. DeLong's proven model for knowledge assessment, retention and transfer."
The loss of knowledge has become a well-recognized business issue. By 2010, more than half of all workers in the United States will be over 40. Industries such as energy, utilities, defense, and government are particularly vulnerable, as such sectors have relied on older, legacy workers and have not hired large numbers of younger workers. When companies lose highly skilled, experienced workers, whether through retirement, layoffs or reassignment, they put their performance and productivity objectives at risk.
"The threat of lost knowledge demands a holistic solution focused not only on upcoming retirements, but on workforce changes in general," added Dr. David DeLong. "Our work has demonstrated that the most effective solutions integrate knowledge recovery initiatives, knowledge transfer practices, human resources processes, and technology. I am impressed with EduNeering's technology-based solutions for workflow improvement and am excited to be working with them."
